Thomas Brodin
New York City, New York (US)
AK: Please introduce yourself: What is your name, where are you from, what do you do?
TB: My Name is Thomas Brodin, I am a Brooklyn-based French photographer and art director. I currently work at ‹Splashlight›, a visual content creation studio in Soho, NY.
AK: What is your relationship with photography? How did you get into it and what keeps you interested or motivated?
TB: I began experimenting with photography after my father’s old Mamiya triggered my curiosity at age 15. For the past 20 years, my work as a photographer includes images that have been collected and accumulated through many travels, always wondering between the testimony of a traveler and the vision of an artist. Photography as a medium never stopped challenging my emotional intelligence and my photographer's keen eye to give senses to the non-sense, recompose the decomposed, pull together the plasticity of the elements, and provide a romantic dimension to nature and reality.
AK: What are you currently working on, and — if there is — what is your next project or journey?
TB: Aside from managing and collaborating with an amazing pool of talents at my day job, I fantasize the idea of publishing a book. I regularly rummage through my photo archive and in the meantime, post a small selection on Instagram.
AK: Thank you, Thomas!
