UK Photographer Polly Tootal has some Giclée prints from her recent London Burning series up for sale and will be donating a percentage of each sale to the Single Homeless Project and to the environmental organization 350.org.

«On July 19th 2022 temperatures in London reached forty degrees for the first time since records began. On this infamous day of extreme heat in the UK, the tinder grass was already parched following a summer of no rain.  A fire broke out in a Dagenham park and it continued to burn for 12 hours, ripping through a residential area and exploding a car park full of vehicles. The extreme heat that day was the catalyst for another 10 fires that broke out across the Greater London area.»

The Organisations involved

Single Homeless Project is a wonderful London based charity who do vital work to prevent homelessness. They help single Londoners by providing support and accommodation, promoting wellbeing, enhancing opportunity, and being a voice for change. From supporting people in crisis to helping people take the final steps towards independence and employment, they make a difference to 10,000 lives every year across all 32 boroughs.

350.org are an international movement of ordinary people working to end the age of fossil fuels and build a world of community-led renewable energy for all. People all over the world are feeling the impacts of climate change. «The fight against climate change is a fight for justice. The climate crisis is not just an environmental issue, or a social justice issue, or an economic issue—it’s all of those things at once. The only way we will be strong enough to put pressure on governments and stand up to the fossil fuel industry is if we all work together.»
