Who is Alexandre Kurek?

Portrait of Alexandre Kurek, Photographer and Publisher of #allcitiesarebeautiful, shot by Kirsten Becken in BerlinAlexandre is a self-taught photographer and writer, born 1987 in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and deeply interested in exploring and understanding the world within and around him. The best tools for that are his mobile phone camera – to capture what he sees and visualize what he feels; his notebook – to reflect on his thoughts and experiences; his legs – to wander around for hours, exploring his surroundings; but first and foremost his heart – to stay sensitive towards others and intuitive and strong in his decisions.

He’s been working in the creative field for over six years now, either as a photographer, writer, or creative consultant. His work has been published in various magazines, featured on websites and blogs, and has been exhibited in art-galleries.

What is #allcitiesarebeautiful?

#allcitiesarebeautiful is a contemporary photography repository, centered around the theme of urbanism and focused on showcasing a weekly updated collection of international photographers and interviews, bi-weekly published essays on photography and urban living, alongside magazine and book recommendations.

Not driven by sensationalism but rather out of curiosity for the small things that define our life and the lives of others, #allcitiesarebeautiful is celebrating the beauty of the ordinary and devoted to seeking beauty in places in which we normally wouldn’t look for it.

„You take delight not in a city’s seven or seventy wonders, but in the answer it gives to a question of yours.“ – Italo Calvino / Invisible Cities
